The Jordan Green Ammonia project is a combined effort between Polish company Hynfra and Jordan-based Fidelity Group. A FEED stage partnership has now been established with Topsoe, which will provide ammonia synthesis technology for the project.
Topsoe’s ModuLite™ ammonia synthesis technology features prefabricated, modular, <600 tons per day capacity, stackable units to convert the renewable hydrogen produced on site to ammonia. Hynfra is targeting the international fertiliser market, and, timeline-wise, FID is expected in 2027 (followed by opening plant operations in 2030).
Hynfra’s other ammonia projects include:
Mauritania Green Ammonia: a framework agreement with the Mauritanian Government towards 100,000 tons per year of renewable ammonia supplied by 550 MW of solar and wind energy and 170 MW of electrolyser capacity.
Development of solid oxide electrolysis process to improve the energy efficiency of ammonia production with three partners.
In collaboration with Yamna, production of up to 1 million tons per year of renewable ammonia supported by 3GW of renewable energy capacity in Andhra Paresh, India.
Topsoe is involved in a number of renewable ammonia projects through licensing of its ammonia production technologies. The largest of the projects is the 3,500 tons per day plant in NEOM, Saudi Arabia.
